from april 2007 until now i photographed the alpha-stars (and some prominent exceptions) of the northern constellations. i used the following equipment: asa 8" f/2,75 newton-astrograph on vixen gp-dx and starlight express sxv-h9 ccd-camera with astronomik rgb-filters typ 2c. i exposed rgb each 2x 2 min. and so reached stars fainter than 15m0. the field of view is about 55 x 40 arc minutes. the size of the photos is reduced to about 70% for the web.
